En aquest taller hem intentat respondre a totes aquestes preguntes, hem estat llegint dades i repassant mapes per descobrir on i perquè es parla la llengua anglesa. I ho hem fet... en anglès, of course!Us deixem les nostres conclusions:

ENGLISH AROUND THE WORLD 

Approximately 375 million people speak English around the world (native speakers).

There are more than 60 English speaking countries where English is either the official or the primary language.

A lot of people study English for its cultural, economical and social influence in the  world.

So nowadays approximately 1.200 milions of people speak English in all over the world.

It is the 3rd. most common primary language in the world (1st is Mandarin Chinese, 2nd Spanish).

English Speaking Countries in North America

The largest English speaking countries are located in North America (the United States and Canada). Although English and French are both the official languages in Canada, 85% percent of the population speaks English. Some Caribbean countries speak English too. These are the countries that were colonized by England, and include Antigua and Barbuda, the Bahamas, Barbados, Jamaica, Grenada, and the Turks and Caicos Islands.

English Speaking Countries in Europe

English is spoken in the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales).

English is also the official language in the Republic of Ireland.

English Speaking Countries in the Rest of the World

The British Empire of the 19th and early 20th centuries as well as the popularity of American culture has brought the English language to all corners of the globe.

English speaking countries outside of Europe and North America include Australia, Nigeria, New Zealand, and South Africa.

English is also the primary language in such diverse places as Guam, Singapore, and the Philippines.

In India the official language is hindu but people use English for official matters.
